AURORA HORSEMEN'S ASSOCIATION

Aurora, Colorado, since 1972

2008 Show dates:

 May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, August 30(makeup), September 13

All horsemen, and all breeds of horses invited! Public welcome!

ATTENTION : August 9 SHOW & GYMKHANA PARTICIPANTS

There was heavy rain in Aurora on Friday evening.  We have to cancel the show due to standing water in the arena, and the footing deemed to be unsafe. Our make up date will be posted as soon as we can book a judge and check with the City of Aurora for arena availability.  Thank you for your understanding, we hope to see you on August 30, for our May rain date make up show.

...from rain out show from MAY 10....

Our reschedule rain date will be August 30. Angela Mannick has graciously agreed to come to judge for us again.  Since the Halter and Showmanship classes were completed (THANKS to the participants that did come - 14 horse trailers braved nasty weather conditions!), our make up show will not include those classes. We will start promptly at 9am with the English riding classes. Points accrued from May 10 Showmanship classes will count toward the daily High Point totals for August 30.

WHAT'S NEW FOR 2008?

#1 - The 40 and Over age Division is back by popular demand in the show classes and the gymkhana!

#2 - The newsletter is on the website and will be sent via email to members!

#3 - Members required to work ONLY 2 hours of volunteer time toward year end award qualifications! Members must work these hours for themselves, unless 9 years old and under.

#4 - We have a new and outstanding Board or Directors!

#5 - A 15 minute break has been added between the showmanship classes, and the English classes.  Arena will be open for practice at that time.

We are proud to be a family friendly, and novice oriented group. We thrive on first timers, and strive to make horse showing a positive experience for the newcomer, youngster, or returning competitor. Of course there are always serious riders and a touch of competitiveness amongst us. Just remember, having FUN is why we all have horses to begin with!
