10 & Under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-49, 50 & Over

Novice 16 & Under and Novice 17 & Over

(No Novice Gymkhana Division)

A riders age is determined as of January 1st of the given show season.

 

 

 

Pleasure Class:   Rider/horse combination must compete in a minimum of three POINTS classes each day in the horse show, per discipline.

(Open and leadline classes are not point classes.)

Gymkhana:   Rider/horse combination must compete in a minimum of four classes each day at the gymkhana.

Points will be awarded to the entry number of the same horse and rider combination each show. A High Point trophy and Reserve trophy will be awarded to the most points accrued in each riding division (Walk/Trot, English, Western, and Gymkhana), in each age division, each show day. In the event of high point ties, the tie-breaker will be placing in Equitation for Walk/trot, Pattern for English, Horsemanship for Western, and Barrels for Gymkhana. If there is still a tie, then a secondary pattern class will be picked. (NOTE: Points will be awarded to entry number of the same horse and rider combination, not individually to either horse or rider.)

 

  1st Place  -   6 Points                   4th Place  -   3 Points

  2nd Place -   5 Points                   5th Place  -   2 Points

  3rd Place  -  4 Points                     6th Place  -   1 Point

(Grand Champion Halter - 2 Additional Points)

(Reserve Grand Halter - 1 Additional Point)

Riders must be a member of AHA for each show in which points are acquired in order for those points to count.

1) The same horse and rider combination for the entire show season. Only one change will be permitted.

2) Riders must participate in at least 3 shows as a member of AHA.

3) Riders must meet daily high point requirements for 3 shows.

4) Qualifying riders must work a minimum of 3 hours of volunteer time during shows. Volunteer time is on a First-Come Basis and must be logged with the show manager

* Anyone the Show Manager deems competent may work volunteer hours for any given rider; however, the hours must be logged-in with the Show Manager and be approved ahead of time if the volunteer is under the age of 18

All hours must be completed by October 2nd - NO EXCEPTIONS

In order to be eligible for the All-Around Champion award a contestant must have met the qualifications for a year-end award in English and/or Western Division AND in the Gymkhana Division for the show season. This award will go to the top qualifying youth and adult rider.
This is an individual award not a horse/rider combination award.
